Yeah it's basically what the title says, name your favorite muscle car or tuner car engine, since the power of the car does depend on what's under the hood.
My fav Muscle car engines:
The one I am currently working on in Auto Tech: A 1986 Camaro Tuned Port Injection 305 with a 1990 Corvette (I think it's a Z06 edition) computer. Cranks out a lot of power and makes real loud snaps as you let off the throttle.
Others include the 1990 Z06 Corvette engine and the Plymouth 446 pack (446 designates that it is a 440 cubic inch block with a set of 3 2-barrel carburators.)
As for a tuner engine:
Honda's S-2000 2.2 liter Dual Overhead Cam Vtec engine, cranking out 240 horses at 7800 RPMs and red lining at 9000 RPMs. Sadly, it only runs on 91 octane gasoline.

1985 Chevrolet Sprint, 3 cylinder. Bad altinator, shakey trasmission, low voltage.
Any year Chevy 350 Small Block V-8. This engine makes me happy. I would rather have the larger 426, but I think that it's the engine ford designed for the Mustang (Boss?), so... NO! Mustang's= EWWW!
EDIT: I hate Tuners... They are stupid peices of crap with tiny engines and computers... Yeah. Some are ok though. Give em' at least a 305ci, and they could become tollerable (And fast).

The Merlin Engine.
Like in the Spitfire.
Oh, wait.
It's been so long that I forget what came on the 1978 Trans Am.
But it pwns everything.
At the Drag Strip here, I saw this 67' Chevy II wagon (Yeah, it was a wagon...) with an 865HP Engine 0.0 That's all I heard and I almost splooged. I'm not sure what the ci's were though. That car could really spin the tires nice and gave us a large cloud of burned rubber =D. I'm getting a 73 El Camino from my uncle soon. The body is nothing special (I might even have to find a new one), but the engine is a 350 and the trany is perfect. I can't wait.

They need to strip that car of the SS label. Fucking chevy, I can't believe that crap. A 200 hp V-6 and they call it a super sport... Maybe if it weighed 2600lbs. but no, it weighs closer to 3800lbs. Must resist... rant...

Uhh.. my favorite? 1974 El Camino. Why? It's a car and a truck without the faggotry of an SUV. HOW COOL IS THAT? Now that you mention it, one of our Auto Tech seniors has a El Camino. He's just wrapping up his engine rebuild this year. It's very nice. Athough it was until some asshole from my Junior class went out and keyed right down the whole side of it. Pissed Ralph (the owner of the El Camino) off so bad, he was gonna knock him out and key his car. We figured out who did it and ended up not only getting a pounding, but some days ISS too. Also we have another El Camino around here but has be fucked up badly. The owner had it painted like Jeff Gorden's 24 car, now tell me, isn't that just a slap in the face at Chevy?
But my Ultimate fav will always be that 502 Big Block Chevy. *drools*
The new vettes 7.0l (427ci) 500 hp small block. I shit myself. Yeah, the Z06 edition comes out this year. Those are deffinetly Viper burners. The only ones out now are the 6.0s. We had one in our class for a demonstration. Man, I almost peed myself when I saw that baby roll into the garage. Words cannot explain how I felt.
Edit: Those 7.0s are not small blocks. The 502 is a 8.1 liter engine so that 7.0 is somewhere in the 400 cubic inch range.

If I only had rockets installed on the giant wing on the back of my Chevy S10 Blazer.
Dude, what year is your S10? Considering you said "wing" I would have to guess you own the previous model S-10s like the big boxy ones. Has a 4.3 Liter V-6 right? or a small block v-8? See, I've only come across the older generation Blazers that had a factory installed "wing". Unless you own a something along the lines of a 98 Blazer, which is the last gen S-10s and installed an aftermarket wing. I happen to own a 1987 Chevy Blazer 2-door myself. Although I haven't hit anything, I would place my money on the idea that if I do hit something, it isn't gonna see the light of day again.
Can you not tell sarcasm when you see it?
My pop has a 69' Chevelle Malibu. It's perdy. Needs some work, but he's going to fully restore it when All of us kids move out of the house.

The '05 Z-06 Corvette 427 ci engine IS A SMALL BLOCK. All previous factory 427's were big blocks. They had to switch from cast in sleeves to press in sleeves because their is so little material in between each cylinder.

OK you guys, you remember the DeLoreans? You know, the car that served as the Time machine in Back To The Future? Well seems that there is a guy here in my town who owns one of the 3 only 24 karot gold plated DeLoreans ever made. I'm not shitting you, he goes right to my church and he takes that DeLorean out to parades and all that. But of course he does not drive it because that would lower it's value. But man, that is just awesome if you ask me.

Actually I should be saying that to you ^^ You are questioning the knowledge of a soon to be Automotive Tech. You see, small blocks stop at 305 in which the big blocks take over. Even with the press in sleeves, it still has enough Cubic inch displacement to be considered a big block.

You're a gigantic moron. You're questioning someone who knows better. In chevy (which is what we were talking anyhow so it's somewhat irrelevant) the same block is used for a 305,327,350,383 and 400ci. Now, they have a 427 for the corvette that is also a small block. Let's not get into that, yet.
If you deny the fact that the ubiquitous chevy 350 is a small block, you don't deserve to be an auto anything.

That article says one thing, "Shut up you ignorant twat."
http://www.carcraft.com/techarticles/1001/
This one says that, not only do you not know what you are talking about, you probably will get fired from your first tech job because you call it a big block 350.
http://wardsauto.com/ar/auto_new_corvette_power_2/
This one says another thing, "You need to die for acting superior to someone when you're, in fact, and ignorant twat."
Yeah, you're right. Despite the fact that the entire automotive world that has a clue is laughing at you, you're still right.
Now, what were you saying? I couldn't make it out because your colon was muffling your voice.
EDIT: For you lazies I'll quote the links here.
First:
"Introduced in 1967, the 350 pioneered larger 2.45-inch main journals and 2.10-inch rod journals, beefier 3/8-inch rod bolts, four-bolt main-bearing caps (for selected applications), and a reinforced cylinder block. As this is written, the 350 is still in production more than 30 years later, and there have been more 350s built than any other small-block Chevy. It has survived the dismal '70s to emerge stronger than ever in its current GEN II (LT1/LT4) and Vortec pickup-truck configurations."
Second:
"Most of us would rather forget the dismal '70s. Yet it was during this period that Chevy produced the biggest stock small-block ever built--the 400. Basically truck and heavy-sedan motors, no high-perf 400s were ever factory-produced. Nevertheless, in the hands of rabid car crafters, the engine has demonstrated its potential, whether destroked to 377 ci (0.030-inch overbore plus the 350 small-block's 3.48-inch stroke) or bored out to 407 ci (plus 0.030 inch with the existing 3.75-inch stroke)."
Last:
"Unlike the previous 427 engine, which was a big-block design, the new LS7 is a small-block V-8, the largest-displacement small-block ever produced by GM. “In many ways, the LS7 is a racing engine in a street car,” says Dave Muscaro, assistant chief engineer of small-block V-8 engines for passenger cars."
327's:
"The 327 was only in production for eight years, but in that time the engine would become a legend among small-block aficionados."
383's:
"Gail Trent at American Speed convinced us that the low cost of small-block Chevy stroker cranks makes a 383 hardly more expensive than a similarly built 350, but capable of putting out a ton more torque."

I give this thread a B+ for making me giggle like a retard on crack =)
Even with the press in sleeves, it still has enough Cubic inch displacement to be considered a big block.Dag: I think what he is saying is, they are not technically a big block, but they have enough C.I's to be Considered a big block. If not, I am stupid, and can add no more to the argument.

If you know anything about cars, it's NOT a big block, it's not even considered a big block and never will be.
I agree with you, I've always called anything under 400 ci a small block, but I'm not the one going to auto tech school, so I'm not going to argue about it.

You'd be right. Cubic inches have absolutely NOTHING to do with whether it's a small block or not. Chevy, essentially, had two engine block designs one was small the other was big. Depending on which one you had, that's what your motor is, a small or big block. Can the small block be made into engines the same size as big blocks? Sure, but it's still a small block. It doesn't magically change bolt patterns, head size and crankshaft size. It's still the trusty mouse that we all know and love. Rat motors are also pretty sweet if done right. I prefer high-bored, destroked big blocks that rev more like the small blocks but have much bigger displacements.
EDIT: Spelling.
Ah, I see. I think I'm gonna start looking this stuff up =/ I feel dumb.
