You know why? Because I can type past the level of a fourth grader. I know that there are spaces between sentences. I don't rant about how people are so mean, and then in the same post make fun of someone.

I have been referred to as a newbie. A newbie is not the same as a n00b. There are many n00bs that have been around for years. A newbie is the term for a new person, and it is not necessarily a bad thing, simply a way of knowing who has experience he does not. Complaining about being called a newbie is like complaining about being called a freshman in school.

A n00b is a raving lunatic who has no understanding of the english language, typically no respect for anyone else's feelings, and types by smacking their overly large and pimply forehead against the keyboard.

Don't worry, I doubt anyone hates you here. But typing and grammar skills are like physical appearance irl : you get judged over that at first sight. Typing badly, using internet speak or bad grammar, make you the internet equivalent of that loud clueless guy which bothers everybody at breaks between classes in high school.

Which is why one should, as much as possible, try and use proper grammar, to avoid being judged like this. And this is why I gave you the tip on punctuation, which was the most annoying thing about your typing.

Of course, being Japanese, you can't be held to the same level as native English speakers when it comes to grammar. Please remember this, the others. It can be very tough to integrate to a community when they don't speak the same language as you - I know it first hand. Be a little more indulgent about his grammar skills, and don't forget that having someone with a different language and culture can ultimately bring new point of view ; it's a chance.
(this may look like me advocating my presence here, but not really - I'm mostly thinking about how much of a chance it was for me to get to know plenty of American and other people, and how it opened my mind)

As I have previously said in the past, I have always considered the word 'rookie' to be more acceptable than that of the word 'newbie'. This is however only my personal preference and I accept both terms in posts. Though I do not recognise the need for the word (if it could be credited such a status) 'n00b'.

It is by all accounts to close to resembling the word 'newbie' which is therefore not only illogical but also an automatic shun at newer members. They, having to share a title in close relation to another set of members who are considered either unintelligent, ignorant or outcasts.

But as always, this is only my opinion. I only type and say what I see as correct.

Someone may have already pointed this out to you (I haven't read all the posts up until this point,), but there is a difference between noob/n00b and newbie. A newbie is someone who's new, like me, with few posts. Actually, I had 300 or so posts before the stupid hacking incident... :sigh:. Anyway, a noob/n00b is someone who uses incorrect grammar, spelling, capitolization, and punctuation on a regular basis, regardless of their number of posts. Being a newbie is not a bad thing, being a noob/n00b is. Now that I've cleared that up, I declare you a n00b for starting this pointless board. I'll just be on my way then.
