Here's a little something that's a bit more on the mild side, straight from my head. It's nothing compared to what Skin Tight brings, but it has its own unique flavor.

Long days pass into long weeks and everlasting years it seems, but for one lonely rabbit, those drawn-out times of pain had been eased with delightful memories. Peppy Hare looked through old photo albums at the aged pictures of his younger years. Eventually, he made his way to the bottom of a large stack, brushed away the dust, and carefully opened the book to reveal his high school days. Ah, Darnium High! It was a good four years of his life, the best really. After all, such time marked when he met James McCloud at a local icecream parlor.

During his sohphomore year at senior high, Peppy had lost some friends due to rumors discussing personal "issues." Making weekly visits to Delightful Dairies became almost a Wednesday ritual for him. Always at six in the evening would he walk through the single glass door, hear the little bell tingle, walk up to the counter, and pay a buck-fifty for an orange smoothie. He even had his own little table for two, except, only he sat there. One day while counting the black tiles on the floor, Peppy raised his ears to an unfamiliar voice. Now raising his gaze, the hare watched as a tall, slender but built fox ordered a vanilla malt.

Fate have it the place be so crowded that night, the only seat left being the extra at Peppy's table. Thusly, the goldenrod vulpine came over with a warm smile.

"Hey, do you mind if I sit here? Every other table is filled."
"I don't mind," Peppy's response was a bit sour, "just don't make sucking noises with your straw; it bothers me."
"Ok, ok, Grumpy. Sheesh, I'll do my best to swallow with silence. By the way, my name is James McCloud. I recently moved here from Delta."
Peppy huffed a sigh, "I'm Peppulaci Hare. Everybody calls me Peppy though."
James gave a laugh and shook his head, eyes in shock. "Bless you! Could you pronounce that again?"
Slowly, the hare gave pronunciation, "Pep-you-lah-chi. There. You happy?"

James nodded and chuckled. Time slowly passed, and Peppy kept perking his ears to bits of converation James would relay and couldn't help but respond. Both had similar interests! Science, math, art, and most important, becoming part of the army, filled their minds. Soon, Peppy eased and the conversation flowed like the soft serve out of the ice cream machines.

Nine came quicker than what either had expected; the manager had to point them to the door for it was closing hour. So then, Peppy and James began to walk home. Through their discussions, they found out they were close neighbors. In fact, they lived in the same apartment complex, in the same hall! Their walk down the street occured with no interuptions, worries, or scares. Peace seemed to have its hold on Corneria, and the spirits were blessing a new friendship.

((That's all I'm writing for now. My eyes are severely straining. >.<'))

Thanks, Cammi. I'll spruce up another bit this week while I think where to take Skin Tight. I mean, I know where to take it, but how is the problem. XD

Ok, here we go. Writing from the head again.

Days passed by so smoothly from there on out. Peppy had found a new close friend that would meet him everyday at the icecream parlor. Those there now knew their faces so well, and Peppy and James had their "regulars." There was no need for ordering their treats, nobody would be at their table, and even their taste in music was timed with their arrival on the jukebox. It was all for the better!

Having such a wonderful new social life through James brought Peppy from his depression. Grades improved because he had his will to pull through back, plus there was no more tossing and turning in sleep from horrid nightmares. Peppy was joyous, even more so when old friends began to flock back to him. Things could not get anymore perfect than this. Or could they?

(Sorry, another pause... XD)

(Here's a bit more!)

One day came where James and Peppy sat at their table. They were crowded around by countless pals, until Peppy shooed them away due to claustrophobia. James gave a chuckle and got their order that night. It was Peppy who suggested they switch drinks, just to get a taste of each other's likes. James agreed, and the two swapped their cups and got clean straws to get the direct flavor. Peppy took a sip of the vanilla malt and nodded, stating he liked the creamy texture to it and the undescribeable taste of the malt. As he looked up, he could only chuckle at James' reaction to the orange smoothie. The vulpine was holding his head, eyes lolled back and fluttering.

"You drank it too fast, didn't you?" Peppy's voice pitched high.
"Nha-huh..." James nodded with his agreeing grunt.
"Was it good though?"
"Ur, ahn... Ah... Er, past the brain freeze, yes. I like how it doesn't taste like that artificial orange crap they try to pass off in carbonated beverages. This actually tastes like a real orange!"
"Yea, Dan does a delightful job with real fruit treats. At one time I used to be crazy about strawberry smoothies, but then price of strawberries went up, and Dan had to discontinue his wonderful product."
James smirked, "You sound like a salesman giving me a pitch. Come on. Let's get out of here and head to the arcade. I heard they had one of those new fighters in."

With that, Peppy nodded, and the two gave goodbye waves to their friends as they got up and left. This was part of their routine. Every other week they would head down to the arcade to see what was new or even what was busted. James loved the fact the broken skiball machines gave ten times more tickets than the ones that kept an accurate score and watch of ball count. This night was given a promising note. Fighting games were a favorite between Peppy and James- having a new one come in was an even bigger treat!

Thusly, their arrival was followed up with big-eyed amazement. They stood in awe a good minute or two at the sight of the new game and spent many more hours playing each other. Of course, they had to step back and let others play. (Being a hog is rude afterall, but if it wasn't for the manager they would have stayed put.)

((Another pause for now peeps.))
